With its beautiful scenery and high success rate, the Lemosho Route is the perfect choice for your Kilimanjaro Expedition, and if you are looking for a personalised experience that highlights the very best of what Mount Kilimanjaro has to offer, this is the ideal route for you.
Approaching Mount Kilimanjaro from the west, the Lemosho Route starts at the Londorossi Gate and traverses lush rainforests to Shira Ridge. From here, it connects with the Machame Route at Lava Tower, and continues to Barranco, Karanga, and Barafu Camps, commonly known as the southern circuit.
While it is possible to hike the Lemosho Route in seven days, we strongly recommend the eight-day option as it allows plenty of time for acclimatisation. The success rate on extended itineraries exceeds 95%, and the longer you spend on the mountain, the more likely you are to reach Uhuru Peak.
As with all Kilimanjaro Company Expeditions, our Lemosho Route Tour is fully-escorted by KPAP (Kilimanjaro Porters Assistance Project) Tanzanian-climbing crew, so you can be confident your trip is safe, secure, and supportive of the local community. Pre-and-post climb accommodations and airport transfers are included, so the only extras you need to budget for are dinner/drinks at the hotel in Moshi and tips for your mountain crew. You'll find further information about this in our Kilimanjaro Essential Information Booklet below.
